The past Saturday morning, three exchange students from Mikkeli died in a tragic car accident near Ivalo in Lapland. ESN Oulu and all its members are heartbroken by this sad news, and we would like to express our sincere condolences for the family and friends of the victims. An exchange abroad is an exceptional circumstance, and we would like to remind every one of our exchange students to be safe in order to not make it a permanent one. This country is one of the safest in Europe when it comes to society, but one of the most dangerous ones when it comes to nature. Please watch your alcohol consumption and that of your friends, don’t drink and drive, don’t go on ice or into the snow when you are not in control of your senses, and be aware of the dangers of icy roads at all times.
