Sitsit are a special kind of student party, organised in Finland and Sweden. The party is a dinner party with its own traditions, including drinking, singing and cheering. Different student organizations have their own traditions, so just be brave and join your own or take part in one of the legendary ESN sitsit. The dress code ranges from formal to quite casual. Sometimes the sitsit are theme parties and then you dress according to the theme.

Most student organisations have an annual ball which is a more formal version of the sitsit with better food and better behaviour, whereas other sitsit can be quite rowdy. You should eat something before the sitsit, since the focus is usually more on the singing and the drinking than the actual eating. You will get hungry if you don’t eat before the party.
